The Interocast
Privacy Policy
InteroCast is a podcast app that runs on your device. We don't operate a server, we don't have user accounts, and we don't collect analytics. This page explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and what control you have over it.
1. Who we are
InteroCast (“the app,” “we”) is published by Seud.IO (“Seud.IO,” pseudo studio, “us”). For privacy questions, email privacy@seud.io.
2. Summary
- The app stores your podcast library, queue, listening history, preferences, and AI keys on your device. API keys are kept in the iOS Keychain.
- If you are signed into iCloud, the app syncs some of your data (library, history, highlights, and transcripts) to your own private iCloud so it follows you across your devices. This goes to your Apple iCloud account, not to Seud.IO. You can turn it off in iOS Settings.
- Seud.IO does not run a backend. We never see your data.
- The app makes direct network calls to third parties when you use specific features (search, playback, AI). Those third parties have their own privacy policies.
- You can delete everything by uninstalling the app.
3. What data the app handles
All of the following is stored locally on your device using iOS’s standard app storage (AsyncStorage / file system) and is not transmitted to Seud.IO:
- Subscribed podcasts and episode metadata
- Listening queue, listening history, and playback positions
- Preferences (topics of interest, named people, playback settings)
- Cached transcripts you generate
- Highlights and notes you save
- Downloaded episode audio files
- API keys for Anthropic and OpenAI that you choose to enter (stored in the iOS Keychain)
- Reports you file against AI responses
If you are signed into iCloud, the app also syncs a subset of this data to
your own private iCloud Drive container so it stays consistent across your
Apple devices: your subscribed podcasts (library.json), listening
history (history.json), saved highlights (highlights.json),
and generated transcripts and AI conversations (Markdown files). These files
live in your iCloud account under Apple’s terms; Seud.IO has no access to
them. Your API keys and playback preferences are not synced and
remain on the device. You can disable this anytime by turning off iCloud Drive
for InteroCast in iOS Settings.
4. Third-party services the app contacts
InteroCast contacts third-party services directly from your device to deliver core functionality. We do not proxy these requests. When you use a feature, the relevant data goes straight from your device to the listed provider, governed by their privacy policy.
| Provider | When contacted | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Apple iTunes Search API | When you search for podcasts | Your search query, your IP address |
| Podcast hosts (RSS feeds + audio CDNs) | When you subscribe, refresh, stream, or download | Standard HTTP requests including your IP address and user-agent |
| OpenAI | When you generate a transcript (Whisper) or use voice or text AI features backed by OpenAI | Episode audio (for transcription) or chat messages, system prompt, transcript context, and your OpenAI API key |
| Anthropic | When you use text AI features backed by Claude | Chat messages, system prompt, transcript context, and your Anthropic API key |
| Apple Push Notification service | If you allow notifications for new episodes | A device push token issued by Apple |
| Apple iCloud | If you are signed into iCloud, to sync your library, history, highlights, and transcripts across your devices | The synced files, stored in your own private iCloud container (not accessible to Seud.IO) |
| Apple App Store (StoreKit) | If you leave an optional tip | The purchase is processed by Apple; Seud.IO does not receive your name, card, or other payment details |
AI providers may retain prompts and responses for abuse monitoring per their own policies. See Apple, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
5. AI features
AI features are off by default and require you to add your own API key in Settings. When enabled, the app sends the relevant episode transcript, your messages, and your current playback position to the provider you chose (OpenAI or Anthropic) so it can answer questions about the episode. We do not log, store, or have access to those requests — they go directly from your device to the provider over HTTPS.
You can report an AI response that seems inaccurate, harmful, or offensive by tapping “Report” on the message. Reports are stored locally on your device. We do not collect them automatically.
6. Data we do not collect
- We do not run analytics, tracking, or telemetry.
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not collect crash reports beyond what Apple provides through standard, opt-in iOS crash sharing (which is anonymized by Apple).
- We do not require an account, email, or any sign-in.
7. Permissions the app requests
- Microphone — only when you start a voice conversation with the AI assistant. Audio is streamed directly to OpenAI for the duration of the call.
- Notifications — only if you opt in, used to alert you about new episodes from podcasts you subscribe to.
- Background audio — so playback continues when the app is backgrounded or the screen is locked.
The app does not access your camera, photos, contacts, location, or health data.
8. Children
InteroCast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Because we don’t collect data from anyone, this is true regardless of age.
9. Your choices
- Delete all data: Uninstall the app. iOS removes all local app data on uninstall.
- Stop AI features: Remove your API key from Settings. The app will stop making AI calls.
- Stop notifications: Disable notifications for InteroCast in iOS Settings.
- Stop microphone access: Disable microphone for InteroCast in iOS Settings. Voice mode will be unavailable.
- Stop iCloud sync: Turn off iCloud Drive for InteroCast in iOS Settings. Your data will stay on the device only.
10. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because Seud.IO does not collect or store any personal data on its servers, we have no data to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your data lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app. For data held by third-party providers you contact through the app (OpenAI, Anthropic, Apple, or podcast hosts), please refer to their privacy policies and contact them directly.
11. Security
All third-party API calls use HTTPS. API keys you enter are stored on the device using standard iOS app storage. We recommend protecting your device with a passcode or biometric lock and keeping iOS up to date.
12. International transfers
The third-party services the app talks to may process data in the United States or other countries. Their own privacy policies describe how they handle international transfers. Because Seud.IO does not collect data, we do not transfer any data internationally.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be surfaced in the app.
